Situated nine miles north of Oklahoma City and just a few miles north of downtown Edmond, the school benefits from all
the advantages of big city life. Yet, because of its spacious 170-acre campus, it offers many of the advantages of rural
American life as well. Two large ponds on the property, one of which is spring-fed, provide opportunities for boating
and fishing. The rest of the campus is best described as rolling meadows of natural grass, with several clusters of
shrubs and scattered trees. Its serene beauty offers ample space for walking, jogging, outdoor study and contemplation.
The John Amos Field House is the hub of campus life. This 27,000-square-foot multipurpose center is where students
attend classes, church services, concerts, meals, sporting events, dances—and more. A track and field and softball
diamond are located outside the field house.
The college is also furnished with a library, weight room, student store and student lounges with games and plush
furniture. Two more buildings, the Hall of Administration and a new women's dorm (which houses three additional
classrooms), are an integral part of everyday life. Construction has begun on an approximately 800-seat auditorium
to be located on the south end of campus. Measuring 100 feet tall at its highest point, the new auditorium will be
the college's largest and most elegant building. The ongoing development of modern educational and athletic
facilities includes multimedia classrooms equipped with sound and projection equipment, automatic lecture recording
and wireless Internet connectivity. These modern facilities combine with the scenic countryside and natural beauty
of Oklahoma, helping to fulfill AC's educational aims.
